New Year
Hello everybody, sorry it has been so long since my last post. Well, we started out the new year, by watching over Brenden all night, while he had a fever...called the doc, they said it was just a virus that was going around, should be over in 24hours...NOT...well, he was still running a fever yesterday, so took him to the doctor and he has Strep Throat..now we are all sick. Geez...we are one sickly family.
Anyway, our Christmas was really nice this year, usually some of our family members will be rude about what they recieved, but nobody complained this year. I think one of the reasons is, we had two kids, that hit the, or are over 18 mark and had jobs, and we put them into the draw names bag this year, and I think it makes them think, when they have to go out on a budget and get a present for somebody that they hope they will like it, and it makes them appreciate what they get themselves a little better. Hope that made sense.
Made a bunch of new recipes over the hoildays, Thanksgiving Pie from the Paula Deen cookbook...it was good, but I didn't have enough corn syrup, so I used a little maple syrup in it, that's why I think it tasted a little off. Also have had the Chicken with Asparagus from Paula Deen, boy was it GOOD, we have had it 3 times already, even the kids ate it. Also made the Cinnamin Orange Spiced Pecans from the Sweetnicks blog...so GOOD again, Also made the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins and they were so GOOD, too. Have also made cookies and pie, and sweet potatos. Yesterday I made Potato Soup, don't remember where I got the recipe from, but it was good, and made Rosemary Bread from a recipe my husband printed off. It was good, too. Tonight, am going to make either Lasagna, or Spaghetti with meatballs...haven't decided, we have some bread leftover, some am going to toast it and butter it, and put it with the pasta. Husband made a big pan of brownies for me last night, so that will be desert. I am going to try to do better about posting, and am going to try to do recipes. We'll see...until next time.
